Since breaking through in 2016, Åsa Söderqvist's ShitKid has built a reputation as one of the most unpredictable and compelling acts around, constantly challenging expectations and refusing to follow convention. After abruptly ending the project in 2020 and stepping away from music entirely, ShitKid returns in 2026 with a live comeback and a series of retrospective releases.

The Essential (Vol. 2) focuses on the slower, more experimental side of the ShitKid catalogue, following the rawer, rock-driven Vol. 1. Curated by Åsa herself, the compilation brings together key tracks from across the project's career and is available on CD and asa a limited indie-exclusive vinyl pressing of 400 copies.

Released alongside UK and EU tour dates in September, the live comeback which started with sold out London shows in March continues with shows across Canada, Japan and Scandinavia later in the year. Over the years ShitKid has received support from outlets including The FADER, NME, DIY, The Line of Best Fit, KEXP and NPR.
